The Network & Security System Engineer is responsible for technical management, design, support, and administration of the Corporate/Customer site LAN/WAN/WLAN networks, video, telephony and enterprise security. Responsibilities include physical and logical configuration and management of networking hardware, cabling, wireless access, MPLS subsidiary networks, traffic shaping and troubleshooting, load balancing, performance monitoring and optimization, log analysis, upgrades and enterprise security.
Responsibilities
Support routing protocols and Cisco frameworks (EIGRP, BGP, GLBP, OSPF)
Fluent in Dutch or French. You demonstrate a professional proficiency of IT related English
End-to-end ownership over networking troubleshooting
Experience evaluating state of infrastructure security and recommend improvements
Proficiencies with VOiP an Video architectures, COS, QOS, VLAN's, DMZ
Experience with multiple protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, OSI, SMTP)
Experience with Data Center design/move/relocation
Router and Switch configurations, layer 2 and 3 optimization
Practice OSI model and IEEE networking methodologies and standards
Supports site-to-site connectivity (MPLS, GRE, IPSEC) and monitors/captures performance metrics
Assist with server/SAN HW configurations (NIC's, HBA's, Fiber, Ethernet)
Experience with Cisco Client, CheckPoint, or comparable Edge Protection HW/SW, site to site VPN tunnels
Support WiFi, SSID's
Monitor and identify networking and application performance bottlenecks and traffic utilization
Implement and manage Networking tools (Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Wireshark, etc.)
Manage updates Cisco HW/SW upgrades/updates
Manage network equipment and services vendors and cabling contractor work
Work with firewall technologies like Checkpoint and provide assistance on deploying next-gen BOYD technologies such as 802.1X (ISE)
Assisting on safeguarding implemented DataCenter microsegmentation services
Skills
Bachelor Degree in computer science or MIS or related field
Fluent in Dutch or French and you demonstrate a professional proficiency of IT related English
5+ years working in a Network Administrator capacity
2-4 years of experience working with managed services vendors
Current Cisco CCNA certification is a must, CCNP a plus
Familiarity with snmp, smtp, mail routing
Working knowledge of Virtual and Physical server configurations
Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, Firewalls (Checkpoint), Load Balancing (F5) and VPN (Cisco)
Good understanding of Security End-Point protection software (McAfee, Norton, Sophos etc.)
Experience analyzing/evaluating vendor products
Strong communication skills and customer focus
Ability to work autonomously, respond quickly to production issues, and produce timely project deliverables
Effective cross group negotiation skills
